About Me
Top 10 Interesting Facts!
-Born and raised in Michigan.
-Went to Michigan State University. I originally was a pre-med major until I came to the harsh realization that I would have to see blood and be in close quarters with needles. So, I immediately switched to an open course, which just so happen to be in the field of education. It was all history from there. I graduated from MSU with a degree in Elementary Education with a specialty in English/Language Arts.
-As an undergraduate I traveled to Australia with Michigan State and was able to student teach in a Kindergarten class. I absolutely loved it. While on the 18 hour plane ride I discovered a hatred for flying and a love for traveling.
-MSU gave me the opportunity to teach in low-socioeconomic urban areas: Lansing and Detroit. Both places taught me a lot about myself and being a teacher. I could not ask for better experiences.
- I moved to Clarksville, Tennessee in July of 2007 for a job teaching 5th grade. I made a wonderful friend who has been an amazing mentor to me.
- I got married in October 2008 and we have 3 wonderful....dogs!
- I love to share photos and stories about my dogs in the classroom.
-I also LOVE to travel, just recently, my husband and I went to South Africa, simply amazing! I have been to every continent except for Asia and Antarctica. I love to use my photos I have taken to enhance student learning and understanding.
-In August 2011, I will be at a new school with a new job. I will be starting up the Title One Math Program. I am excited to be a part of this exciting time.
-I received my Masters Degree from Michigan State University in Educational Technology.
-I currently teach 4th grade math and science.
